Outback Extravaganza: Mundi Mundi Bash set to ignites Broken Hill

STAGING AUSTRALIA’S MOST REMOTE BIG SCREEN FAN SITE FOR THE MATILDA’S TONIGHT

Music lovers ready to rock NSW’s biggest outback event from tomorrow

Mundi Mundi | 12,000 music lovers from across Australia are converging on the Mundi Mundi Plains outside Broken Hill for NSW’s biggest outback event, the Mundi Mundi Bash!

Tonight the event will become Australia’s most remote big screen fan site for the Matilda’s semi-finals game in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Around 5,000 of the event crowd who have early entry passes are expected to gather in the concert arena for the impromptu live screening of the Matilda’s semis finals game as they take on the Brits.

The red earth of the iconic Mundi Mundi Plains will turn green and gold with a special light show by actor Shane Jacobson’s Crowd Canvas set to wash over the crowd as they show their support for the history-making Matilda’s in real-time.

“We were on site last weekend as part of our event bump-in watching the Matilda’s nail biter of a game – and when they made it through to the semi’s we knew we had to do something to allow the thousands of festival goers already on-site today to keep following their amazing journey.  We have a huge screen as part of our stage set up and will light the crowd green and gold to show our support for the Matilda’s.  It’s going to be epic,” said Greg Donovan, festival creator and Managing Director of the Outback Music Festival Group.

From tomorrow, Thursday August 17th the stacked festival lineup will take centre stage across three massive days with Oz rock legends including ICEHOUSE, Hoodoo Gurus, Human Nature, Pete Murray, The Angels, The Waifs and Kate Ceberano, among others performing to the 12,000 strong crowd.

More than just a music festival, the Bash is a family-friendly, dog-friendly, inclusive desert community, with true blue Aussie activities including:

Festival-goers will also be treated to a sensational Taylor Swift Tribute, featuring renowned Australian artists Melanie Dyer, Caitlin Shadbolt, Robyn Loau, and Miranda Care for all those Swifties who missed out on tour tickets. A special Tina Turner tribute show will also take place at the event following the massive Nutbush World Record attempt – with NSW hoping to beat the record set at Queensland sister event the Birdsville Big Red Bash last month.

This year's event is sold out, but limited re-sale tickets are available via TIXEL. Founder Greg Donovan and his incredible Aussie lineup are available for phone and in person interviews. Get in touch to organise a time.

Still images and video footage will be available here at the close of proceedings each day. Live crosses can be arranged on request.
